Guidong Hakka Tea-picking Tune is a folk song sung by the Hakka people in the Hakka dialect when picking tea leaves. It later absorbed some elements of the folk songs of Gannan and Guidong regions, and evolved into today’s Guidong Hakka Tea-picking Tune. It has beautiful melodies and flexible music forms. It is rich in content and simple and vivid in language. The lyrics are full of metaphors, with colloquia language and neat rhymes. It is generally improvised with different words.
